Root Canal Treatment

Step 1: Use of Anesthesia

First Dentist needs numb your teeth by performing local anesthesia. A dentist performs this process with a needle. You will feel a bit of pinch inside your mouth because of the sharp needle. After that, they will place a dental dam which is a rubber sheet used to keep your teeth clean and dry.

Step 2: Use of tools

Root Canal Process requires dentist to use many tools. There are plenty of small tools available to perform this Treatment.

The dentist first uses a small drill to open the cell of the affected teeth. After this, the dentist will use small files to clear the surface of the affected teeth and remove pulp from the teeth. During the same process, the dentist will change different files to shape the inner chamber of the teeth. He may also use water to clean away the remaining pulp from the teeth. The dentist would also use antimicrobial solution in the chamber to kill down remaining bacteria from the teeth and mouth.

This antimicrobial solution prevents the bacteria from spreading in other parts of your mouth and teeth.

Step 3: Finishing the Treatment

After the entire chamber is cleaned and dried thoroughly, your dentist will fill it. The dentist will use a rubber-like material for the finishing procedure. Your dentist will close the opening of the chamber with this material. Once this procedure is done, you will be asked to wait for the final and permanent crown.

Step 4: Process to place Permanent Crown

After filling the chamber with a rubber-like material, you will have to wait for a few weeks. After that, your dentist would call you for finalizing the procedure. The dentist will finish this process by placing the permanent crown on the teeth. Depending on the condition, the dentist will fix the permanent crown just like the natural tooth. If the crown doesn’t fit well on the teeth, he may also use a small supporting post inside the chamber.

Supporting post inside the chamber make the restoration of the Crown more stable. The permanent crown will not go away and stays there for years.

Root Canal Treatment often takes only one appointment. However, depending upon your condition, your dentist would advise you to come and revisit the clinic.

After the Procedure

After a successful root canal procedure, your dental care provider will ask you to take excellent care of your tooth. You might be asked for regular visits to the clinic in the future to check your current condition. The dentist will X-Ray the repaired tooth after a few days to check whether it is appropriately fixed or not. If you find something is not right, then you should immediately visit the dentist.

Make sure you keep up a good oral care routine at home. Follow some basic oral care tips like brushing your teeth twice a day by using a fluoride toothpaste. Floss your teeth every twice a week and make sure to use mouthwash liquid to keep your mouth bacteria and germs free.
